1. Booking - I take bookings up to 2 years in advance!
Celebrants can get very busy in the warmer months, so be sure to book as soon as you have a date for your wedding. You can email me lillian@lyonheart.com.au, phone or SMS me on 0438 506123 to check availability. To secure me as your celebrant, I require a deposit of $200.
The Notice of Intended Marriage will need to be completed by at least one of you (see Paperwork) and received by me no less than one month and one day prior to your wedding day eg. if you are getting married on 14th February 2013, the deadline is no later than 13th January 2013. Once lodged, the Notice is valid for 18 months.
2. Arrange First Meeting – to run through what’s involved
I would love to meet you! The most rewarding aspect of my work is meeting couples from all different walks of life, getting to know them, and ultimately bringing them together in marriage. During our first meeting, if you have not completed the Notice of Intended Marriage, and we are within the required time frame, we can do this together.
3. Creating your Personalised Ceremony
Now we create your perfect ceremony! It may be small and stylish, casual and relaxed, or lavish with all the traditional trimmings. Every couple has their own ideas about their ultimate wedding ceremony, and there is a lot to be considered eg. the feel of your ceremony, participants, venue, outdoor vs. indoor, music, vows, rings, special requirements etc.
I will provide you with samples of vows and to reflect your relationship and style, my own simple to follow Wedding Guideline full of suggestions and tips. Once we have gathered your ideas and my suggestions, I will put it all together.
4. Closer to the Day
Over the months leading up to your wedding day, there will be a considerable amount of communication between us. Closer to the day, we will need to arrange a final meeting to check that I have received all paperwork, run through the final details of the ceremony, and sign the necessary declarations.
5. Witnesses – one for each of you
Your wedding ceremony must be witnessed by two people who speak and understand English, and who are at least 18 years of age. They will be required to witness the ceremony and sign the certificates.
6. Your Wedding Day
I will arrive at the venue at least 20 minutes prior to your ceremony, which is plenty of time to set up and speak to anybody who is participating in readings, music, witnesses etc.
I will then meet the bride as she arrives to make sure she’s okay, and to coordinate her entrance. By now, you will be prepared to walk down the aisle with confidence and meet the love of your life.
