When someone close to you dies, many lives are turned upside down. The grief is palpable.
When I first became a wedding celebrant, it was all about celebrating life and love. What I soon realised, was that being a celebrant comes hand-in-hand with conducting funerals.
For 21 years, I've been both a wedding and funeral celebrant for many families. In recent years, I became a funeral director, and co-founded The Last Time Funerals, a bespoke funeral company specialising in funerals and memorials.
A Funeral Director is appointed to make all final arrangements, and they often provide you with a list of celebrants. Most people don't realise that you can choose your own celebrant. Fulfilling both roles ie. taking care of your person from the moment of death, right through to planning and conducting the funeral or memorial, is an honour and privilege.
